Day 1: Arrival in Cotonou

  • Arrive in Cotonou and transfer to the hotel
  • Evening at leisure
  • Night at the hotel


Day 2: Porto-Onigbolo-Covè

  • We travel towards Holi territory where we will visit people with scarifications. In this region, the practice of scarification remains popular in the rural villages of the Holis. Scarifications are a sign of strength and identify that the person belongs to a particular tribe.

  • In the afternoon, we will attend a magical dance of the Guèlèdè, which is a mask society, a dance of four drums in the village of Covè.

  • Night at the Covè hotel.


Day 3: Dassa Zoumé

  • We continue northward and make a stop in Dassa. The city is known for its 41 hills, making it one of the most attractive cities in the country. Located in the center of Benin, the city of Dassa is also known for hosting the cave of Our Lady of Arigbo, a cave dedicated to the Virgin Mary.

  • After this brief stop, we will continue towards Parakou where we will visit some villages of the Fulani ethnic group.


Day 4: Parakou

  • In the morning, we will attend an equestrian show of the Bariba ethnicity, with majestic horses and colorful costumes. After the show, we will have lunch and visit the market of Parakou. We will also pay a visit to the king of Parakou.


Day 5: Djougou and Taneka

  • We will head north and visit the Islamic city of Djougou.
  • We will then follow the route to visit the Taneka village. The liveliness of its traditions makes it an authentic culture: leather loincloths, long pipes they smoke, etc.
  • Night at Natitingou Beau Séjour Hotel.


Day 6: Natitingou-Boukoumbé

  • Boukoumbé is a village that houses Tata houses, two-story mud constructions resembling small castles. Additionally, they have been houses of resistance against enemies and wild animals: a unique culture.
  • Night at Tata koubétti hotel.


Day 7: Ouidah

  • We will start our long drive early to the south until we reach Ouidah. Ouidah is a historic city marked by slavery and ancestral voodoo practices. It represents one of the most visited cities in Benin. From the temple of the pythons (animals highly revered among the HUEDA) to the various convents, the traveler comes into contact with voodoo religion.
  • Upon our arrival and after resting, we will attend a ceremony to experience this animist religion.
  • Night in Ouidah.


Day 8: Ouidah

  • Voodoo Festival/ceremonies in Ouidah. An intense day awaits us full of unforgettable experiences and much learning about the voodoo religion.


Day 9: Porto-Novo – Adjarra

  • Porto-Novo is the administrative capital and historic city of Benin. It is located 30km east of Cotonou and retains the charm of colonial streets built in the late 19th century. A city that represents the center of voodoo cults. Its quieter streets and numerous abandoned houses give it a melancholic atmosphere.
  • Honmey Museum, The Great Mosque, Adjarra.
  • Night in Porto-Novo.


Day 10: Cotonou-Ganvié

  • We find ourselves in the economic capital of the country, the most beautiful city in Benin. We will start the route with some important and impressive monuments to immerse ourselves in the past and the history of the country. Memory Square, Amazon Square, Dantokpa Market.
  • Ganvié.
  • Night in Cotonou.


Day 11: Cotonou

  • On this last day, we will visit the beautiful beaches of Cotonou and travelers will have time to make the last purchases they wish. The guide will take them to a popular neighbourhood to see the daily life of its inhabitants.


Day 12: Fly back

  • Transfer to the airport
