Unlike traditional tour operators, we make sure we give our customers a real Norwegian experience and want to get closer to the local communities. In this tour, we will show you the hidden gems of the city and you will learn about the history of the second-largest city in Norway.
We will visit the old and the new center of Bergen, visiting spots like the fish market, where you can get a taste of the delicacies of the Norwegian fjords and much more. You will learn about how the port of Bergen became one of the busiest trade centers in Europe in the Middle Ages.
A visit to the German Ward will transport you to 500 years ago and you will have incredible photo opportunities in this charming compound of old wooden houses. The Hanseatic League had the monopole of the trade of stockfish and they lived and traded there. Your guide will tell you about how life in Bryggen used to be.
You will walk through residential neighborhoods, with their wooden house in many colors and pebbled streets, and you will get a taste of how Bergen used to be before its last fire burnt around 90% of these beautiful wooden buildings.
A visit to Mt. Fløyen in the funicular only takes 3 minutes, departing from the very center of the town. Admire the views from the top over the Bergen Harbour, the city fjord, the famous roofs of Bergen, and many other relevant places. Then you have the option to relax and enjoy a cup of coffee or hot chocolate in the café on the top of the mountain while enjoying a Bergen shilling pastry (skillingsbolle in Norwegian), the Norwegian version of cinnamon rolls.
